Chicken Inn recorded their second consecutive win in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after a 2-0 victory over TelOne at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.
The Gamecocks opened the scoring just before halftime, with Cameroonian forward Ykren Dagmo Ngnowa finding the net in the 40th minute following a cross from Innocent Masiya.
The goal gave Chicken Inn a deserved lead at the break, as they maintained control for much of the first half.
TelOne responded after the restart and created several chances in search of an equaliser. However, they were unable to break down a disciplined Chicken Inn defence.
Despite sustained pressure from the hosts, Chicken Inn remained composed and sealed the result late in the game. Genius Hute doubled the lead in the 82nd minute to secure all three points for the Gamecocks.
The win marks Chicken Inn’s third victory of the season under coach Tonderayi Ndiraya, lifting the team to sixth position on the table with 12 points from seven matches.
